The Student Activities Council is a group of students selected by the former Activities Director, Mr. Josh Frey. The group focused their efforts on six pillars that they developed at the beginning of their meetings. The six pillars, Family, Punctuality, Goals, Leadership, Trust, and Communication, will be used to help create welcoming environments in all activities offered through the school. The group has worked with Scott Raecker from Drake University’s Robert D. and Billie Ray Center, to enhance their steps towards implementing their pillars.
Members of the council got to spend the day at Webster and help with their Leadership Day. They were split into groups and ran different activities to help teach the elementary students about being a leader. In addition to aiding in Leadership Day, the council was invited to present its pillars to the school board at a meeting early this school year.
Due to staffing reasons, the council is no longer meeting but, members still aim to uphold the pillars.
