The Urbandale wrestling team competed at Dowling Catholic last week on January 25. The team secured their third win of the season. The Urbandale J-hawk wrestling team has shown inconsistency with only having won three of their 17 meets. Varsity wrestler Evan Twombley shared his thoughts on the future of this team’s season, and what he thinks is the best way for this team to succeed.
“We need to show more intensity in practice and this intensity should show up more in our matches.” Twombly also noted what the team does well. “ we do a good job on not letting pins happen.” He said they can use this to their advantage, “when we are wrestling in unfamiliar situations.” In Urbandale’s next few weeks leading up to the state meet, hopefully they will improve on these points.
